Captain Jack Peck and co-pilot Vince Daly spotted a large flying disc from their DC-3 aircraft. It crossed their flight path at approximately 1,000 feet. They pursued it at 170 miles per hour but lost sight of it after four minutes.

The captain and navigator of a Constellation aircraft observed an orange, cylindrical object, blunt at both ends and the length of a P-40 fuselage. They watched it for approximately 50 seconds but did not pursue it to avoid deviating from their flight path.
