Two FBI agents saw lights move and vanish near a home. A white light above a red one disappeared, then reappeared in the same spot.
This is an FBI FD-1057 electronic communication recording first-hand observations made by FBI Special Agents during an ongoing investigation in November 2024. The agents visited a witness's home in the northeastern United States to confirm previously provided reports and video of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) observed over the prior three years. The form documents what the agents themselves observed from the home's patio over roughly a 90-minute period, including pulsing white and colored lights moving erratically near a tree line and over a pond, and notes that five photos taken were mostly blurry. Names, locations, dates, and case identifiers are redacted throughout.
At approximately 4:45pm, agents and the witness went onto the patio on the north side of the home. About twenty minutes later, a Special Agent observed what was believed to be a UAP: a white pulsation of light appeared at the northern edge of an area and began to move horizontally with somewhat erratic movements at or below the tree line, dancing side to side for less than ten seconds before disappearing. The light did not appear to reflect off the water of a pond or illuminate the area below it. Within the tree line to the west of the home, agents observed white lights that would pulse and flash a white/blue hue and then disappear, appearing more stationary; plumes of broad light were also seen for several seconds before a flash of red or white light appeared and moved erratically before disappearing.
At approximately 5:30pm, two Special Agents observed what they believed to be a UAP in the same location, appearing as a bright white light above a bright red light at the far end of the pond, hovering at approximately tree-top height. It moved quickly from right to left, disappeared, then reappeared simultaneously where it had first appeared, moved quickly from right to left, and disappeared again. Both agents observed this activity. Agents remained on the patio and backyard observing until approximately 6:10pm, then went inside to download the most recent photos and videos, and departed the home at approximately 6:15pm.
"SA observed what believed to be a UAP. ... saw a white pulsation of light appear. The light appeared to be at the northern edge of and began to move horizontally with somewhat erratic movements. The light did not appear to reflect off the water of giving the possibility that the light source was over the wooded area to the north side of"
Speaker: FBI Special Agent
Why it matters: Firsthand agent observation of an erratically moving light at or below the tree line.

"The UAP appeared as a bright white light above a bright red light at the far end of the pond hovered at a approximately tree-top height, moved quickly from right to left, disappeared, then re-appeared simultaneously where it had first appeared, moved quickly from right to left and disappeared again. Both Agents observed this activity."
Speaker: FBI Special Agents
Why it matters: Two FBI agents jointly describe a hovering, rapidly relocating light at tree-top height.

"Five photos were taken, however the photos were mostly blurry and do not provide much context. It was later determined that a tripod or other stable platform would be required as the long exposure of the camera aperture would not yield clear images."
Why it matters: Explains why the photographic evidence collected is of limited value.

Heavily redacted FD-1057; OCR on page 1 form header is garbled but the narrative pages 3-4 are legible. Part of an FBI cluster (D004-D008, PR001-PR003) describing UAP reports from the same general area in the northeastern US in November 2024.
The homeowner shared reports and videos of lights seen in the area over the previous three years.
The FBI document does not say that explanations like these were investigated.
Yes, but the images were blurry and did not explain what the agents had seen.
Two FBI agents stepped into the yard of a home in the northeastern United States. Beyond the pool, a white light began moving from side to side. Within seconds, it vanished.
The agents visited the home in November 2024 after the homeowner shared reports and videos of lights seen in the area over the previous three years. They saw the lights for themselves, then watched one disappear and return to the same spot. The images they took did not explain what had happened.
In the late afternoon, the agents went into the yard on the north side of the home. One spotted a pulsing white light near the treetops or below them. It moved from side to side in an irregular pattern.
It did not appear to illuminate the area below it. In less than 10 seconds, it vanished.
The agents also saw white and bluish lights near the treetops. They appeared, flickered, and disappeared. Some seemed steadier. Others flashed and moved irregularly before vanishing.
One of the agents photographed the lights. The images were blurry and did not show enough to determine what the agents had seen.
Later, the two agents noticed a white light above a red one at the far end of the pool. The light moved quickly from right to left and disappeared. Then it reappeared exactly where it had been seen before. It crossed the same distance again and vanished once more.
The two agents watched the movement together. They stayed in the yard and continued watching the lights until evening. Then they went inside to review the photos and videos.
It is not known what the lights were or what caused them to disappear and return. The FBI document does not say that ordinary explanations, such as a drone or an airplane, were investigated, nor does it offer another explanation for the sightings.
The agents saw the light return to the same spot, but their images did not clearly capture it. What was in that yard?
