A British news outlet has published a map of nearly 2,000 UFO sightings over five years, including 164 reports of dark triangles. Meanwhile, the United States has released classified documents containing unverified accounts.
British news outlet AOL has published an interactive map of UFO reports that can be searched by postal code. The data were collected by the research group UFO Identified, which recorded nearly 2,000 reports across Britain between 2021 and 2026. Most describe spheres, lights, and “stars”; 164 describe triangles, or about one in 12.
What Triangle Reports Describe
The reports describe dark objects with no lights, moving silently over neighborhoods, fields, and coastlines before disappearing. Manchester and the surrounding area had the most reports, with 245.
The most recent triangle report came in on July 22. A large black triangle, with a red light at each point, hovered for about half an hour over Stretford in Greater Manchester.
Pentagon Files
The United States has also recently released classified UFO documents. On May 8, the Department of Defense published 161 documents on its website, with more added later. One includes a confidential account from a military servicemember who claims to have witnessed the 1947 Roswell incident firsthand.
Another file recounts the experience of Chief Delbert Newhouse, a U.S. Navy officer and experienced photographer. In 1952, near Tremonton, Utah, he photographed a group of reflective objects. He said they looked like “two discs stacked on top of each other.” He submitted the photographs to the government for analysis.
Another FBI document describes a former military pilot who saw lights in the sky in October 2023 while flying from Boston to Dublin. The pilot said many pilots had seen similar things between midnight and 3 a.m.
The releases do not establish the source of the British reports or link them to the U.S. documents. The U.S. documents do not verify claims that the objects were nonhuman craft.
