A blue box tracked the speck. Moments later, it lost its lock.
Video from a military sensor shows a speck over the sea, marked by a blue box. The area became difficult to distinguish from the background, and the sensor lost track of it.
DVIDS-hosted infrared FMV clip (DOW-UAP-PR34 / Unresolved UAP Report, Greece, October 2023) released alongside the DoW-UAP-D33 mission report. 2 minutes 57 seconds (177.2 s) of grayscale IR sensor footage from a U.S. military platform showing a faint, low-contrast 'area of contrast' against an ocean / sea-surface background. The sensor pans to track the contrast, eventually achieves a reticle lock, engages a contrast filter, then loses lock when the contrast becomes indistinguishable from the background; the sensor then cycles zoom levels and contrast thresholds without re-acquiring. Per the paired MISREP, this is the AFSOC ISR sortie out of Larissa AB, Greece on 27 Oct 2023 in which a circular UAP was reported flying near the surface of the water and performing multiple 90-degree turns at approximately 80 MPH, with the FMV feed losing the object at 0038Z.
IR sensor on a U.S. military platform tracks a faint area of contrast moving near the sea surface. Per the paired DoW-UAP-D33 mission report, the object appeared as a single circular UAP flying just above the ocean and executing multiple 90-degree turns at approximately 80 MPH; the sensor lost the object at 0038Z. The video itself shows the contrast entering FOV from the lower-left, being tracked across the FOV, briefly held by a designation reticle, examined under a contrast filter, and finally lost when it blended into background sea clutter, after which the sensor cycled zoom and contrast settings without re-acquiring.

DVIDS title labels this video DOW-UAP-PR34 (the unresolved UAP report) while the corpus slug references DoW-UAP-D33 (the accompanying mission report PDF, slug 050). Same incident, two document IDs. This is the longest video in the corpus checked so far (177.2 s / 2:57). Frames are heavily redacted in the HUD overlay area (large black rectangles top-center and at all four corners hide platform/telemetry data); the imagery itself is unredacted. Sister sortie D35 (slug 091) occurred the following day from the same theater.
A bright area enters the frame, and the sensor marks it with a blue box and tracks it. Later, it becomes difficult to distinguish from the background.
The description says the area became indistinguishable from the background, but does not explain why. It also does not say whether the contrast filter caused this.
A bright area enters the frame from the lower-left corner. The video was recorded in Greece in 2023 by a sensor aboard a U.S. military aircraft. The sensor displays differences in heat.
It turned to follow the area and marked it with a blue box. But near the end of the video, the area blended into the background, and the box lost track of it. An accompanying report also describes sharp turns close to the sea’s surface. The result is an intriguing gap: the sensor tracked the speck, then could no longer distinguish it.
The video runs for nearly three minutes. At first, the bright area moves from side to side as the sensor turns to follow it. Later, it stays near the center of the frame for most of the video.
About a minute in, the sensor marks the area with a blue box. The box moves with it, allowing the sensor to keep tracking the spot where the speck appears, even as it moves within the frame.
The accompanying mission report describes the object as flying close to the sea’s surface. According to the report, it made several 90-degree turns and traveled at about 130 kilometers per hour.
The report describes these turns, but the video does not show what caused them. It shows the bright area and the sensor tracking it. The blue box marks the spot the sensor is trying to keep centered in its tracking system.
Later, the sensor activated a filter designed to make the difference between the bright area and the background stand out. Shortly afterward, the area became indistinguishable from the background. The blue box lost its lock, meaning the sensor could no longer track the area.
After losing the speck, the sensor quickly changed its magnification and contrast levels. But the video does not show whether these adjustments restored the tracking lock.
The object’s identity and why it became difficult to distinguish remain unknown. The description does not say whether the contrast filter caused this, and it offers no conventional explanation for what happened.
The background remains on screen after the blue box loses the speck.
