Chapter 1

A green sun and no moon

Their sun, Shah, glows yellow-green. There's no moon. Instead, three giant thinking spheres circle the planet, and they helped shape it.

Chapter 2

Trees that wake up every morning

At night the trees fold up into skinny stalks. When the sun comes up, they stretch and spread until every branch touches. Hello, jungle.

“The whole planet is a garden.”

Chapter 3

Nobody eats anybody

The animals there never eat each other. They soak up energy directly and team up instead of hunting. Some of them do make very strange noises, though.

Chapter 4

The night that lasted three days

Once, for three days, everyone on the planet fell asleep and dreamed the exact same dream. Since then, nobody there needs to sleep.

Chapter 5

Home is a flying city

Most Essassani live on ships, not in towns. One city ship, Solar Wind, is a giant tube about a mile long. You can walk all the way around its decks.

Chapter 6

Third in line to say hello

They call us Enani, "the ancestors". When they visit openly, they expect to be third, after the Yahyel and one other people. First stop: probably Sedona, Arizona.
