Mr. and Mrs. Hedstrom, Mrs. Henry Schultz, and police officers observed groups of illuminated objects flying over the city in triangular formations, first heading northeast and then returning southwest. According to descriptions, the lights appeared to be lit from within and flew in a straight path.

D.S. DesVergers reported that a disc, approximately 30 feet in diameter, hovered above him and fired a "red mass" in his direction, after which he lost consciousness. The FBI laboratory found no residue that could identify the cause of the burn, and the scorch pattern on his hat indicated it was not being worn when it was burned.
