The Founders' ancestors came out through the black hole at the center of our galaxy. They were born from "a burning focus of consciousness".

Made of the stuff in sand
We're built on carbon. The Founders are built on silicon, the stuff in sand and computer chips. They're so alien our minds can't really grasp them.

They drew the blueprints
They drew up the starting blueprints for certain realities. Today they oversee many of the plans playing out inside them.
Chapter 4
One mind, many faces
People often meet them through a mantis-like go-between. Kind, unseen helpers are another of their faces. But don't mistake them for angels. That's a different level.

Learning from the hybrids
Why would they care about humans and Greys? The hybrid races, born from mixing two peoples, teach the Founders something new about themselves. So they encourage these meetings.
