A military sensor is trained on a small dot that stands out against the screen. Then another dot enters the frame and disappears behind an area redacted from the display.
The video lasts about a minute and a half. The redacted area is part of the display that was obscured in the record; the footage offers no way to identify it. So it’s impossible to know what lies behind it. The second dot briefly reappears, but even then, its identity remains unclear.
One Dot Stays in Frame
At the start of the video, the sensor is aimed at a small area that stands out from its surroundings. Over the next several dozen seconds, the magnification changes, as does the way contrasts in the image appear. The area generally remains in frame.
At one point, the dot appears to rotate. The description attributes this to the angle of the sensor relative to the dot. In other words, the video does not establish that the dot itself rotated.
A Second Dot Disappears, Then Returns
A second dot enters from the top and crosses the frame. The redacted area in the display then hides it. A few moments later, it reappears as the sensor turns, then exits through the top of the screen.
At the same time, the first dot loses its distinct shape and blends into the background. The U.S. office that investigates anomalous phenomena, which reviewed the video, assesses that it was recorded by a sensor that displays heat differences. The office believes the sensor was aboard a U.S. military aircraft. The incident likely occurred in November 2022.
What Remains Unknown
It’s unknown what the dots were or what caused them to appear this way. The office notes that many of the materials it has collected lack complete documentation of their origins and how they were transferred.
One moment in the video remains unresolved: a dot crosses the screen, disappears behind a redacted area, then reappears as if nothing happened.
