Egg-Shaped White Object Spotted Over a Road in St. Augustine

What Happened At around 5:32 a.m. on July 9, 2026, a truck driver stopped on the side of the road along the north shore of St. Augustine, Florida, and witnessed something unusual. He said he saw a uniformly illuminated white object, shaped like an ellipse or an egg, rising at an angle of about 45 degrees above the horizon. It remained visible for about 10 minutes without any sound or vibration, then disappeared beyond a line of trees.

Local Context The area around St. Augustine is known for its open spaces and regional flight paths, but there is no record of significant military activity at the time. Various lights are sometimes reported in the area, including shooting stars, meteors, and experimental aircraft. But the elliptical shape, steady white light, and lack of sound are inconsistent with sightings of conventional aircraft.

Why Is This Interesting? The report includes several details that lend it weight: - Long viewing time — About 10 minutes, far longer than the brief flash of a meteor or shooting star. - No sound — Aircraft typically produce engine noise or vibration, but no sound was reported in this case. - White elliptical shape — A rare sighting in sighting databases, where most objects are described as spherical or triangular.

The report is unverified and rests on the account of a single witness, so it should be treated with caution. Still, it adds another case to the range of unexplained lights reported across Florida’s skies.

Summary The driver’s account describes an elliptical white light moving along the horizon without a sound, then disappearing after several minutes. Such testimony adds to the collection of unexplained cases and invites further investigation into the weather conditions and air traffic at the time.
