Colorful Orbs Over San Marcos: Two Eyewitnesses Describe a Sighting

The Sighting At 11:50 a.m. on May 9, 2026, two people in a car near San Marcos, Texas, saw glowing orbs in the sky. The objects appeared about as large as stars, perhaps slightly larger, and changed rapidly among white, red, blue, and green. According to the witnesses, the orbs moved in sudden bursts: at first they traveled slowly, then abruptly sped up before coming to a complete stop. After a few seconds, they disappeared, only to reappear in the same place.

What Happened? For about half an hour, until 12:35 p.m., the observers described striking changes in the objects’ movement. The orbs traveled from north to south, then west, while repeatedly changing color. Around noon, the two objects appeared to align side by side and descend slowly toward the middle of the sky, continuing to change color rapidly: white, green, red, and finally blue.

Context and Significance The report was logged in the NUFORC database as an “unverified eyewitness” sighting. Although the colors and speed seem unusual, there is no direct evidence of known technology or military activity in the area. The sighting is notable because the rapid color changes and shifts from slow to high-speed movement do not match common natural phenomena such as meteors or illuminated balloons.

Why Is This Interesting? The report describes a phenomenon reminiscent of “orb” sightings, which science has yet to fully explain. The rapid color changes and the orbs’ apparent ability to disappear and reappear suggest characteristics that warrant further investigation, particularly in areas far from dense population centers.

Summary The sighting lasted about half an hour, and the observers described complex movements and striking color changes. So far, no other sightings from the same time and area have been documented, leaving the case open to questions and further study.

--- The report is documented by NUFORC under case number 197626. The orb’s origin has not been officially confirmed, and the details are based solely on the witnesses’ recollections.
