A Fast-Moving White Light Over Parkland: A Veteran’s Account

What Happened At 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, with the sun still below the horizon, the veteran was sitting on the back porch of his home in Parkland, Florida. A former US Air Force pilot, he described seeing a bright, round white light suddenly appear and move from east to west at extraordinary speed. It remained visible for about five to six seconds, left no trail, and made no sound. After crossing the night sky, it disappeared without gaining or losing altitude, continuing in a straight line at an angle of about 45 degrees toward the observer.

Context and Interpretation The witnesses said they were accustomed to seeing military aircraft, including planes using afterburners, but none had seen anything move so fast. The former pilot emphasized that the light was “faster than anything I’ve seen in a fighter jet”
