A Triangle of Multicolored Lights Over Overland Park: An Unverified Eyewitness Report

Incident Description At 10:15 p.m. on June 9, 2026, a driver heading south from Kansas City, Missouri (KCMO), on I-35 reported seeing an unusual object in the sky. The witness described it as triangular, with numerous points of light in different colors forming a crescent around the triangle’s outline. The lights were visible at several points, and their colors changed at short intervals.

The triangular formation appeared several miles from the driver, tilted at about 45 degrees to the horizon and positioned to the west, on the driver’s left. It remained in place for about five minutes, until the driver continued on and the lights disappeared from view. The witness described them as an “arc of lights” forming a crescent shape, and said there were too many to attribute to an ordinary aircraft.

Context and Significance This is one of many reports in the NUFORC database, which collects accounts of unexplained aerial phenomena (UAP). Triangles of multicolored lights are a common pattern in reports of unidentified phenomena and are sometimes associated with experimental technologies, but there is no conclusive evidence about their origin. What distinguishes this case is the reported time the object remained stationary: 15–20 minutes, suggesting a high degree of stability.

What Can We Learn? The report indicates that the witness was driving and spotted the object at a relatively close distance, allowing the witness to estimate its angle and size. However, the lack of precise information about the object’s distance, speed, and size limits the strength of any conclusions. More accounts from the area should be collected, and local traffic cameras or radar systems that might have recorded such an event should be checked.

Note – This is an eyewitness report that has not been investigated or verified. It should be treated only as a first-person account, not as proof of extraterrestrial technology or cosmic phenomena.
