A Blue-and-White Orb Over Minturno: Two Witnesses Describe a Sighting

What Happened At 9:44 p.m. on May 9, 2026, two witnesses, one of them an enthusiast who studies unidentified phenomena, described the incident. They were standing outside smoking a cigarette when they noticed a glowing orb, sky blue with a white tint. The orb appeared to move from the northwest toward the south, then changed direction shortly afterward and began moving southeast. One witness kept their eyes on it until it stopped moving. The sighting lasted about 31 minutes.

Geographic Context Minturno is a small town in Lazio, along the Adriatic coast. The area is known for spectacular sunsets and clear skies, which provide ideal conditions for observing aerial phenomena. The information provided includes no record of military aviation activity or a commercial flight area that could explain the appearance.

What Makes This Report Stand Out? - Spherical shape – The witnesses described a complete sphere with no shadows and a uniform color. - Long duration – The sighting lasted 31 minutes, far longer than objects such as balloons or airplanes would typically remain visible under similar circumstances. - Sudden change of direction – The orb shifted from a southerly course to a southeasterly one, with no clear explanation, making it difficult to identify as an ordinary aircraft. - Two witnesses – The presence of two people, including one who identifies as a researcher of unidentified phenomena, lends weight to the report, though it remains unverified testimony.

Possible Explanations The witness says they know how to distinguish drones, airplanes, comets, and similar objects, and is convinced the shape does not match any of them. However, there are no precise details about the orb’s size, speed, or distance, making it difficult to rule out a rare atmospheric phenomenon, such as a high-altitude balloon, a laser effect, or the projection of a powerful beam of light.

Summary The report describes a striking sighting of a glowing orb at an unknown distance that lasted about half an hour and changed direction unexpectedly. Although the testimony is unverified, the incident raises interesting questions about rare aerial phenomena in open areas under clear skies.

--- The report is based solely on testimony from two witnesses and has not been verified by official sources.
