Silvery Orb Maneuvers Over Los Angeles in Seven-Minute Sighting

What Happened On May 10, 2026, at 9:44 a.m., a Los Angeles resident reported seeing a glowing, silvery orb to the northwest, toward the San Gabriel Mountains. The witness described it as slightly larger than a small plane and, based on an estimated angle of 65 degrees, high in the sky. For seven minutes, the orb moved steadily: it rotated on its axis, hovered in place, and drifted slowly without changing direction significantly.

Technical Details and Documentation The witness said the orb shone brightly and appeared to contain two smaller spheres connected by a silver V-shaped line. A hazy halo surrounded it, and it cast light on nearby objects. The witness took three photographs, then switched a Samsung S26 Ultra smartphone to its 115 mm telephoto setting, with image stabilization, and recorded video in 1080p. The video, about five minutes long, shows the object maneuvering, reversing its direction of rotation from clockwise to counterclockwise and back, and appearing and disappearing several times, though the camera captured it each time. The weather was clear, with no significant cloud cover in the area, except for a cloud to the northwest that was moving quickly westward.

Context and Assessment The report says the orb may have been a balloon, but its features—continuous movement, a halo around the object, and two spheres connected by a V-shaped line—do not match the usual behavior of weather balloons. The approaching cloud also moved differently from the orb, which the witness said helped distinguish the two objects.

Why It’s Interesting The incident describes a rare visual phenomenon: a large, luminous, steady orb documented in high-quality video and photographs. Although the report has not been verified, it adds to the record of UAP sightings in urban Los Angeles and invites experts to examine whether the object was natural, technological, or something else.

--- The report was filed with the NUFORC database and has not been independently investigated. This is not a claim that an alien or extraterrestrial craft was involved.
