Incident Description
At 11:45 p.m. on July 11, 2026, a Glendale, Arizona, resident reported an unusual sighting from their backyard. They described a gray, disc-shaped object about 60 feet long (approximately 18 meters) and 20 feet wide (approximately 6 meters), about 1,000 feet (approximately 300 meters) away.
The object moved silently at an estimated 70–100 mph (approximately 110–160 km/h). It made sharp upward maneuvers at a 45-degree angle, climbing to about 70 degrees above the horizon. After several brief maneuvers, it returned to a ring of colored lights shining around the disc’s edge. It then headed southeast, turned northeast, and finally disappeared to the east.
The witness said that neither they nor their cats heard any sound. The lights were bright and varied in color, but showed no consistent pattern. The sighting lasted about five minutes, until the object disappeared from view.
Context and Observations
Reports of disc-shaped objects with flashing lights are not new to the NUFORC database. What sets this case apart is the combination of high speed, sudden silent maneuvers, and repeated changes in direction. The witness was certain they had seen a UFO, but no independent evidence, such as video or photographs, is available to corroborate the report.
Why It’s Interesting
The report describes features associated with advanced technology: sharp maneuvers, high speed, and no sound, none of which are typical of conventional aircraft. The flashing ring of light around the disc may also suggest an advanced lighting system. Though unverified, the report adds to the record of unexplained sightings and raises questions about what might account for them.
This is an undocumented eyewitness report and should be treated with caution.
