A Triangle With Red Lights in Flushing, New York

What Happened On December 21, 2007, at about 10 p.m., a Flushing, New York, resident had an unexpected experience. The report was recorded by a nursing student in her twenties. As the resident sat on the couch with her boyfriend and began petting the cat, she suddenly felt her neck muscles tremble. The cat reacted abruptly, too. She looked out the window.

What Did She See? She saw a large triangular object surrounded by a strong red glow. A faint halo or haze appeared around it, and a bright red light shone at its center, resembling a star. The central light stood out, while the smaller lights at the triangle’s corners appeared to form a precise pattern. The witness described it as “a kind of hovering triangle” that vanished in an instant, as if it had disappeared into another dimension.

Evidence and Context The report is based on a single witness, with no video or technical measurements. Still, several elements stand out: - Triangular shape — One of the most common shapes in reports of unidentified objects, sometimes associated with sightings of advanced military aircraft. - Red lights — The prominent color could point to a distinctive lighting mechanism, whether technological or natural. - Halo or haze — Sometimes associated with atmospheric phenomena or the star-like appearance of fast-moving objects.

Why Is This Interesting? The account describes a shift in the witness’s outlook: after the encounter, she went from being a skeptic to a believer. Such a change shows how unexplained sightings can prompt personal transformation, even without conclusive scientific evidence. The object was visible for only about a minute, and there was no additional documentation. The report thus joins a broader body of one-off accounts that contribute to UFO research.

Summary The report remains unverified testimony: there is no visual documentation and no other witnesses. Still, it recalls earlier sightings of triangles with red lights and invites further monitoring and investigation of similar reports in the New York area.
