White Orb Reported Over Fence Lake, Hundreds of Miles Away

Background On May 7, 2026, at 12:51 p.m. local daylight time in New Mexico, an amateur researcher who specializes in documenting unidentified flying objects (UFOs) photographed an unusual event in the sky. The photographer says his archive contains more than 15,000 photos and 180,000 processed files. He used an iPhone 14 Plus to photograph the sky above the tree line, aiming to document the area without first focusing on unidentified objects.

The Sighting Scanning the open sky, the photographer took six photos from a single vantage point. Three were shot at an elevation of 60° above the horizon. Two showed a translucent white orb in the southeastern sky; the third showed it in the east. The orb, marked by flickering light trails, was estimated to be 800 miles (about 1,300 kilometers) and 500 miles (about 800 kilometers) from the observer. It was visible for just one minute. Its speed was not measured.

Analysis and Perspective The photos were examined with image-forensics software. The group found the orb in only two of the six images; no phenomenon was visible in the third image. According to the photographer, the orb left a light trail visible in the background, adding to the mystery. He noted that this was a daytime sighting, which is generally less common than nighttime sightings in databases of reports about unidentified objects.

Why Is This Interesting? The sighting stands out for several reasons: - Time of day – Most orb reports are made at night. A daytime sighting offers a different view of lighting conditions and contrast. - Distance and size – If the orb was hundreds of miles away, it would have to be enormous. The photographer could not measure its size, raising questions about the orb's nature. - Light trails – The trail left by the object could indicate motion or an unusual physical phenomenon, such as atmospheric effects or optical phenomena.

Summary The report is an unverified eyewitness account, with no additional evidence from official sources. Still, it adds another case to the NUFORC database of unexplained phenomena and reminds us that the sky remains full of mysteries awaiting scientific investigation.

--- TL;DR – A translucent white orb with a light trail was seen during the day over Fence Lake, New Mexico, at a distance of 500–800 miles. It was visible for one minute and appeared in two of six photos taken during a 360° sweep.
