What did the Nimitz pilots see in the 2004 Tic Tac incident?

Navy pilots described a smooth, white, Tic Tac-shaped object with no visible wings or propulsion. According to Commander David Fravor's testimony, he saw it moving above the ocean surface before it accelerated and departed at an extraordinary speed [2][3].

Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich also participated in the sighting, and both described the encounter during a training exercise with the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group [4]. This is the pilots' account of an unidentified object; the attached sources do not determine what the object was [1][4].
