The story
The last house on our street

Chapter 1
The last house on our street
Think of our corner of space as one street. Within about 12 light-years, several stars have people living by them. Tau Ceti is the last house on that street.
Chapter 2
Almost like us. Almost.
They have brownish skin and look humanlike, up to a point. There are small differences. For one, they have no eyelashes, thanks to a different world and different genes.
Chapter 3
Built a little differently
Their bodies are carbon-based, like ours, but silicon plays a part too. They eat, sleep and feel, just differently. And they talk both out loud and mind to mind.
Chapter 4
They've seen our photos
They know we're coming. The Essassani, a gentle star people, keep them up to date and have even shown them photographs of us. Nobody has met in person yet.
“They know you're coming.”
Chapter 5
Showing us the ropes
First we'll meet the hybrids and the Pleiadians. Later, when we fly to the stars on our own, Tau Cetians will be among the first we call brother and sister.
“They'll show you the ropes.”
The road ahead
An alliance of our own
Earth will join the Association of Worlds, a club of hundreds of planets. We'll also start our own alliance. Tau Ceti joins first, sometime past the 100-year mark.
